Many People Have Eaten My Cooking & Gone On To Lead Normal Lives

Strawberry Cookies

This is a simple recipe that Mary Grace could help me with and everyone seemed to love.
They are a great summer time cookie!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1 box strawberry cake mix (I used Duncan Hines)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup of water
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 large egg

Preheat oven to 350. Spray baking sheets with Pam. Place sugar in a shallow bowl. Combine cake mix, flour, water, butter and egg in a large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed until well blended. Using your hands, roll into 2" balls. Then roll the balls in the sugar to coat. Place on cookie sheet and pat to flaten. Place cookies about 2" apart.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Cool on pans then remove to wire racks to cool completely!

Super Simple!!!
And I see no reason why you couldn't use a different flavor cake mix to make more cookies!

Naomi's Tinker Bell Party

NAOMI IS TWO!
Naomi is crazy about Tinker Bell! We've watched "The Lost Treasure" about a 2 million times. So, of course, we had to have a Tinker Bell Party.
I only make birthday cakes for Mary Grace and Naomi. So that's only 2 a year! And I've never taken any of those Wilton Cake Decorating Classes, which would come in handy. Each birthday I get so excited and the ideas start flowing through my thick head. I always have such grand ideas for their birthdays. Then the day comes when I have to decorate this cake that I have so cleverly imagined!
AAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Each birthday I just want someone to remind me that cake decorating is not my thing!!!! And I could have ordered the cake with a lot less stress and probably a lot less money too!

Nevertheless, the party was a huge success! We are blessed to have such wonderful friends and family! Everyone had a fabulous time at the Tinker Bell Party/Cookout. And the cake, well it did taste very good! Here are a few random photos...

Preschool Graduation

My oldest daughter graduated from Preschool.
I was very proud of myself for not crying and drowning the audience with my tears. Of course, I did spend the day before the graduation a total wreck! I cried from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed!
It's not that I'm sad she's graduating. In fact, I'm very proud of her and everything she does! She is an awesome kid! I don't know why I couldn't stop boo-hooing.
I'm glad she's getting older and learning new things and having new adventures! And she's still young enough that I can experience some of those things with her. I guess it's just the thought that she's not a baby anymore and that those moments of holding her in my arms are going to be fewer and fewer. But until the day she pushes me away and says,"Mom, You're embarrassing me!", I'm going to hold her and love her with all that I have!
I'm very proud of you, Mary Grace! And I love you always!

Hello Stranger

It's been a while since my last post (3 months to be exact!). But you will be happy to know that I've been very busy sewing, painting, & creating. Here are just a few things I've been working on...Up-cycled, Felted Wool Sweater Bags
Satin Flower Pins
Pillowcase dresses
And Lots of New Jewelry!

... and that's not all! I have so many projects that I'm working on that I have to keep a detailed notebook so I don't forget anything!
I am very thankful to my friends and family for supporting me with this new adventure in my life! I am truly blessed!

Cute, Fuzzy, Baby Tag Toys

I LOVE THESE!!!!

I made these cute little sunshine tag toys for a baby shower gift! They are so cute and cuddly I think I'll make one for every baby I know! I've seen toys similar to these at stores and on other sites so I had to try to make one myself!

It's just takes some fuzzy fleece fabric, colorful ribbon, fiber fill,

and some jingle bells (hidden on the inside)!

They were super easy and fun to make!

Makes me want another baby!!!!! (Maybe NOT!)

Tis the Season........

.... for birthday parties! We have two parties this weekend and, after looking at the Birthday Bulletin Board in Mary Grace's preschool class, we're going to have them almost every weekend til the end of the school year! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! Presents for all these kids!!!

I have to think fast! What I need is a Super Hero!

OK - Maybe I'll just whip up some Super Hero Capes for Mary Grace's friends.

They won't make you run any faster, jump any higher, scale tall buildings, or save the universe - but don't tell the kids that!!!!

They are, however, shiny, sparkly, and the most important thing - washable! I think the birthday kids will love them. Who doesn't want to be a Super Hero?
